Rocky River Springs Fish House Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Aquadale, NC, June 14, 2008 – During June 2008 Rocky River Springs Fish House will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary.  Opening in June 1968 in the beautiful community of Aquadale, located in Southern Stanly County, they initially had the capacity to seat just over 100.  Their reputation for great food at a fair price quickly grew to the surrounding counties and they expanded the very next year to seat over 300.

Vaughn and Annie Bell Swaringen had run Vaughn’s Fish House for several years and received positive support from the community.  Knowing a good thing when it comes along, Vaughn and Annie Bell went into business with a son-in-law and daughter, Kermit and Noreta Efird, and moved to the historic Rocky River Springs area of Aquadale.  In 1970 another one of Vaughn’s children joined the restaurant, Don Swaringen and his wife Diane.  In 2005 Stan Efird, Kermit and Noreta’s son, decided to come back to help out.

While Vaughn and Annie Bell passed away in 1995 they would still be proud to know the Kermit and Noreta Efird, Don and Diane Swaringen, and Stan Efird are still carrying on the tradition.  Times have certainly changed in the last 40 years, but Rocky River Springs Fish House is still focused on the customer and providing a good family-oriented environment, offering great food at a fair price.

“We are grateful for the support that our friends have given us over the last 40 years”, mentions Stan Efird, “they are what make this restaurant special.  They are the reason that we are in business, it’s about taking care of them.”

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary, Rocky River Springs Fish House is offering a couple of Thursday night specials that are available to everyone that visits the website at www.rrsfh.com.
